It is rare that someone hands you the early stories of a writer whose work you love.

This collection of very short stories is the first tentative steps of a writer who became one of the UK’s most prolific, successful, and, most importantly, loved authors of funny stories written to put a smile on your face. Goodness knows we all need that right now. Thanks, Sir Terry.

I'm not normally a fan of short stories but will make an exception for Terry Pratchett. These lost stories, culled from newspapers in the 70s and early 80s, all published pseudonymously, are all delightful. You can see sparks of his humor and searing eye for irony, but he isn't wielding a scalpel yet. So happy I found this at the library! Quick, fun reads. They do show his experimentation with funny fantasy.
