As thrillers go, this was not. One could skip the first 150 pages or they could have been condensed by the authors. Are they paid per word? It includes things like: she opened her laptop, touched some keys, the screen lit up - really just say she switched on the laptop! Another example is al long the lines of: He had 3 pieces of paper . he gave one to xs another to y and the last to z - just say he gave them each a written list! These details do not add to the story or moe the story a long. I had. I don't know if the original books, just written by Lee Child are better but this did not make me want to read another - life is too short no interest in the characters or indeed the crime. I didn't even know why Reacher was bothering with it. I have seen the films (how miscast Tom Cruise is) and the tv show but this was the first oif the books I have readb
I started reading the Jack Reacher books in 2022 and loved them up until the last few. The previous book wasn't up to par and this one is just not good. There are too many characters, too many unimportant details, too implausible, and just boring! Jack Reacher is done for me. I won't be reading anymore and I'm kind of sad about it because I have read EVERYTHING Jack Reacher, including all of the short stories (except the one that isn't available in the U.S. - The Fourth Man)!

A free ARC from Netgalley is to provide an honest review, not a biased one. Get past these "Free ARC" reviews and you get to see the one and the two stars. One of the worst Reacher books I've come across. For most of the book, the readers are clueless, the bad guys (at least most of them) are clueless, hell even Reacher is clueless. Except at the end, Reacher's attitude seems to be one of "let me finish this unpleasant task and get a move on". That's why the book could go beyond a 100 pages even.
