I wanted to read this book prior to jumping into Beneath Black Sails to get to know Vice's backstory and see how she got to the point at which the first book begins, especially after knowing a bit about her family background from Kat's pov in A Kiss of Iron that I read at the beginning of the year.

I thoroughly enjoy Clare Sager's writing and am really intrigued by the glimpse's of this world that we're getting and how it fits into what I know of the world from Kat's own story, I can't wait to jump into the official first book of the series!
