This read was a total guilty pleasure. I kept thinking there would be a point where the characters would have the " I can't believe you fell for that" conversation, but it just never happened. Leaving all logic behind it was kind of fun.

Again, only 3.5 stars.

The plot to the second book in the series was entertaining and interesting, with Kate and Nick globe-trotting once again to try to bring down criminals. It was nice to see the return of Boyd and Willie in this book, along with a new character. I was glad to see that the geographic narrative was slightly less in this book.

What I felt was missing was the chemistry between Nick and Kate. They are clearly attracted to each other, but nothing even remotely came close to happening with the exception of the night they had to share the hotel room in Scotland, and even that felt lackluster. The plot is definitely the driving force in this book, not character development.

As much as in loved other books written by Janet, I found that the Fox and O’Hare series disappointing. The second book The Chase was lacking with no sexual tension, not progress from the last book and I found myself rolling my eyes every time I read another dad joke. I love dad jokes just as much as the next person but I was over it after the first one. I just one more from the characters and I am not getting it. The Chase missed the mark. Two Stars.

Another great read from Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg in the Fox and O'Hare series. Kate O'Hare is a straight laced FBI agent who spent years tracking con-man Nick Fox. After his capture and escape Kate becomes his unwilling partner in attempting to bring down some of the toughest criminals in the best way that Nick knows how, in a con. As they attempt to recover a stolen artifact from The Smithsonian Kate and Nick travel the world staying one step ahead of the authorities utilizing every trick they have. Great dialogue, lots of humor, fun read! Can't wait to continue the series.
