I read this book coz I found a very positive review for it on YouTube (thank you Daniel Greene) and I cannot be greatful enough! I thought then it sounded like something I’d like and I am so happy it delivered.

I may be biased because I literally just finished it and still have tears in my eyes from the ending but I am in love! It made me laugh out loud, was epic when it needed to be and I cared for every single one of the characters!

Tomorrow I will head to Waterstones to buy the next in the series, and start an endless tirade of recommending this book to anyone I know who likes fantasy!

Try this again - the Goodreads apps on my phone and tablet suck, always deleting my reviews. forces many reads to go un-reviewed. This was a fun read. Great premise, nicely done, genuine characters with backstories, personalities and motivations that I enjoyed. Not a single badly done character. Humor was good - taken too far too often. This really needed an editor that could reign in the 'jokes' before they went stale like the guy at a party who thinks everything he says is hilarious and repeats it ad nauseam. I liked it overall, will read the rest of the series someday. I think using the rock band idea really delivered a decent s&s crew novelization.
