This is my first Mallory Fox book, but I’m now a fan!
Viola is an assassin, but she kills those who deserve it, rapists, child molesters, and the such. She looks young and unassuming, and that’s where they all go wrong.
Viola’s newest assignment is the son of one of the five, the five mafia family’s who run the area, Lorcan Duke. In order to get close to her assignment, she has to enroll in Sacred Heart, a private school run by the five.
Being the girl in town, she’s what every guy wants, and every girl hates. Saskia Duke, Lorcan’s sister is the leader of the pack, along with her brother. Viola, Victoria to them, infiltrates their circle, and things start to get complicated…
This reminds me of a badass female Dexter, mixed with mafia vibes. This books hooked me instantly, and I couldn’t put it down. I love how fearless, badass, and lethal Viola/Victoria is. I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens next!

So I read the novella for Violent Tendencies, and I was a first time Mallory Fox reader. Since reading this full length book, I am definitely diving into her backlist.
As I said before, I love Viola! Not only is she a strong FMC, she's a hired assassin with a thirst for blood and justice. She is given a target and goes undercover. Once she starts her job, she starts to discover that it's more than just the murder of an elite girl. Lorcan and Viola have tension, even if she is trying to keep him at arm's length.
I love this version. It is a slow burn, with a couple of steamy scenes, but the tension is off the charts! We get to see more into the lives of the characters. TI could not put this book down. It is so twisted and there is action, mystery, secrets and lies.
You have no idea how excited I was when I found out that we were going to get more Viola! This book only scratches the surface as to what is to come. I cannot wait to dive deeper into this world. I thought this was going to be a single standalone, but to turn it into a series, SIGN ME UP, I am here for it! I am so ready for A Legacy of Sorrow!

Just...wow...this book is beyond anything I expected. First of all, that cover! If you're not enticed by that alone, then read the blurb. And if the blurb doesn't get you...just read the book! Because it is sooooo good! Very rarely do books live up to their hype BUT THIS ONE DOES!!
It will make you uncomfortable. It will make you fall in love with characters you didn't think you'd ever like. And it will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next installment.

I first read this story in the Violent Tendencies Anthology but when I saw it was being released separately and the story was going to be more elaborate with more chapters I had to reread it. The new chapters makes this book so much better. You finally get to really see the reverse harem relationship start to bloom and you get a lot more background on what all is going on in the guys world. I can’t wait to see how the series will continue as they start crossing off names from the black book and how Viola’s farther is going to come into the story.
