I learned of Theresa Hak Kyung Cha from Minor Feelings.
Cha uses the book itself as part of her medium. Poems and stories are cut between pages that leaves me flipping back and off. Sentences are interrupted by the end of a page, and something about turning the page and seeing the final word as the first thing on the adds emphasis.
Text blocks on page spreads will be spaced as inverses of the opposing page; I don't have a thought beyond how beautiful I think it looks.
The repetition and alliteration are masterful.
It's a work that is created with the intent of being reread.

god there’s nothing as refreshing as this. particularly moved by all the implications of a second tongue, a foreign tongue. i write in a foreign tongue now. i’m reminded of what’s important.

like some other reviewers here, i don't think i had the time or brain space to give this the dedicated study and reflection it deserved. it was challenging, lyrical, and i'm sure very rewarding for those who can really sink into it.
