I'm so excited this book is finally out on audio with returning narrator Caitlin Kelly! Another sweet, emotion-filled romance from Susannah Nix's Chemistry Lessons series. This book features Brooke, a marine biology PhD student and her friends to lovers journey with high school bestie and NYC super model Dylan. Dylan comes to LA and spends the week hanging out with Brooke. Things heat up and the two finally confront their mutual attraction. When Dylan wants to take a chance on a real relationship though Brooke gets cold feet.
This one was a fully closed door romance which was a little disappointing. The chemistry between Brooke and Dylan was top notch and oh man the Dad-joke level puns were on point! I also loved the Ripped Bodice bookstore reference and how the author worked in conversations about how amazing romance novels are, for both men AND women. Dylan was a hottie with a huge heart and wins all the book boyfriend stars, showing up for Brooke when there's a family crisis.
Fans of this series are sure to enjoy the cameos from past books in the series but overall this was good but not the best one for me. Too PG!! Gimme all the steam please :) I'm going to be sad when this series ends after Elementary romantic calculus!

I noted this book so much. I think this one was one of my favorites in the series so far. I really enjoy these books with women in STEM who aren’t the ones to give up their careers or education to be with the guy. Friends to lovers is becoming a favorite trope of mine.

I was lucky enough to receive and advanced copy of Experimental Marine Biology for an honest review.
I want start by saying that I’ve been so excited for this book since I found out about it. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve always wanted to be a marine biologist.
That being said, I love that the heroine, Brooke, is a marine biology major who spends the majority of her time studying whale ear wax. Lol. Until her best friend Dylan comes to visit that is.
@susannahnixauthor did a great job with this book, like usual. The book was such a light, easy read (aside from a couple touchy points). But I do have to say she touched on said points in a very good way.
I didn’t find myself growing bored while reading this book but did find myself wanting more and more. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun read.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this @susannahnixauthor

I have enjoyed all of the books in Susannah Nix's Chemistry Lessons series, but I think the 4th was still my favourite of them all. That being said, this book was adorable and sweet and fun. The characters were a blast and I enjoy series in which you get to "catch up" with past characters from the earlier books. This would make a good summer read especially if you enjoy female characters working towards STEAM careers and standing up for what they believe in.
Thank you to the author for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review :)

Book was rather uneven / there were parts I really liked and I felt immersed in & others parts that I didn’t. Some of the issues could behave been resolved by making this a shorter book - a lot of it felt repetitive.

I genuinely enjoyed Experimental Marine Biology & I truly believe this book was a great addition to the Chemistry Lessons series <3
My only complaint is I wish there was more spice !!! I know this book is meant to be a cute friends to lovers but… it really could of used some more spice. There was so many moments where I was like “WHAT NO GIVE ME MORE DETAILS” 😭
When moving on to this novel I personally skipped books 3 & 4 in the series. I know this obviously wouldn’t be an issue since each book is a stand alone romance in the same universe but I do like seeing cameos from previous couples. Luckily I found that it followed on incredibly well from the 2nd book !!
