Still dense with the sci-fi details, this sequel expounds upon a post apocalyptic future that apparently is at a constant standoff between two main militia groups, each vying for power and control, one with a particular evil outlier that’s making things all sorts of complicated.
Here, our heroine Shining, must leave her self imposed isolated life of dealing in illegal contraband and weapons to basically preserve world order or to at least die trying. Luckily, on top of her unique gifts, Shining’s got plenty of help in the form of saucy AI’s and cheeky human teammates. Bonus points for a pretty hot brewing romance on the side that hasn’t quite come to fruition but leaves you wanting more.
Shining is a heroine to root for as the stakes get higher and higher. Ending on a slight cliffhanger, I look forward to the next installment!

Again, feels like half a book. But the character development has been better in this installment. I'm a bit sick of the repetitive nature of the author. The number of times she repeated what has happened to Shining and when... it was just way too many. Otherwise, I did like the improvement in the writing and storyline. Just wish the first and second volumes were one novel.

I liked the sequel every bit as much as I did the first book. I hope to see more of this series. The world building that Hunter does is excellent. I also like the characters and felt I got to know them a little better.

Continuation of the Junkyard Cats novella. Still enjoying it.

Have you read Junkyard Cats (Junkyard Cats #1) by Faith Hunter? No? Go do that before reading this one. Junkyard Bargain takes place in a post WWIII world and Shining Smith is back and in the thick of trouble once again. This is a wonderfully well written story that will leave you thinking of Shining and her friends long after the last page

I definitely enjoyed the 2nd in this series more than the first. I am hoping that book #3 comes soon. Give this series a try.
