Again, another epic tale as the stories of all our favourite characters continues. All of them dealing with dangerous and scheming people around them. I did find it a struggle to keep up with who was fighting for which side, which perfectly demonstrates the chaos and disorder the 7 realms are in.
I do not want to write too much as I would hate to spoil any of the plot for anyone new to GOT.

I don't think I have ever enjoyed a book or series I have read this slow. I began the year by reading Game of Thrones, and I have only reached the first half of the third book by the end of 2017, but I have zero regrets. If George R.R. Martin thinks he is going to write slow, then very well, I am not going to read any faster either. But I think I think I'll give him a break. I can't fathom how he thinks up alllll of this.

Migliore comparsa: Lady Olenna.

I couldn’t give this book 5 stars because just not a lot happened in those 600 pages. It was mostly just the characters doing things in preparation for seemingly bigger things coming soon.
Saying that, I loved it. It doesn’t matter that not a lot is going on; the split perspective makes the story feel fast-paced and gives the illusion of a lot of action and development. The writing is so easy to follow for a complex fantasy, and the lore of the world is intertwined so cleverly into the story that you don’t even realise how much you’re learning about the world at the time.
There are some chapters I preferred more than others. Jon and Sam arguably had the most action-packed and interesting storylines in this book, and I always enjoy reading from Tyrion’s perspective, regardless of whether he is up to anything or not. I wasn’t a fan of Bran or Arya’s stories, which to me felt like ‘filler’ chapters, because all they did was travel for the entire book. Overall though, this was a great read and I am eager to read the rest of the series.

I just couldn't put this down even though I've watched the TV show.
Really enjoyed this but I need the second volume of book three to get the full effect. Knowing what we were cut off just before makes me think the splitting of this book was just annoying. A lot of set up without the pay off yet. Still a really well written story

Low score due to this really being the first half of one book. If taken in conjunction with Part 2 would easily be 4-stars. As the build-up for the torrent of revelations and climaxes that is Part 2, it is adequate. Still, by itself it is only build-up.
Good but not as enjoyable as the first two were. This one dragged a bit and I found it easier to put it down. Still a good read though. :-)
