I read a “mushy” book for Valentine’s Day weekend. I like the depth Center gives to her characters and the plot which isn’t just about relationships. The message to love like crazy and spend the time you have with those you love are great takeaways from this book.

I really enjoyed this but The Rookie was occasionally almost too amazing if that makes sense. Still, I found the book more relatable than I was expecting and loved all the Boston references and the peek into the world of firefighting.

This is a lovely book exploring how to heal, be vulnerable, and forgive. There are all kinds of reasons the protagonist has for being withdrawn, but in a way that feels authentic and true, Center allows the reader to join with Cassie in realizing there is strength and hope, even after tremendous heartache. Fun read.

I need Katherine Center to go to therapy for her internalized misogyny
