Very enjoyable and overall charming story. I would only give the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because elements of the semi love triangle reminded me of her other book The Bookshop around the corner. But I did love feel of the town and Polly was a very likable character with her pet Puffin. I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

Once again, when I am having a rough spot in life, Jenny Colgan lands on my lap and helps bring me up. I want to continue this series, but yet I like the magic of her books appearing when I need them the most <3

2018 NCLS I Love Reading Challenge: Book about Food

This was a cute, whimsical, and speedy read!

This book is the epitome of a cozy summer beach read. And her pet puffin is the cherry on top of a perfect chick lit sundae.

You can't help but fall in love with Mount Polbearne and its eccentric cast of characters, that come to life on the book's pages. I felt myself cheering for Polly as she determinedly faced a new life in a new place, where she met the realities of living in a small island village as a single woman. The descriptions of the setting are realistic but also fantastic, and the story is a definite page-turner, leaving you hungry for more from this talented author.

Just couldn't get into it - tried audiobook and ebook, just not enough interest to finish

This was probably the cutest books I have ever read! I now want a pet puffin and I also want to move to an English coast. This is a light breezy fun book. I Def shed a tear somewhere in the second half and also giggled out loud a few times. Jenny Colgan is becoming one of my favorite authors. This is my 3rd book of hers and it is so far my favorite. The loveliest chocolate shop in Paris is next!

This was a random BookOutlet pick for me. We sell some of the newer ones at the store, so I figured I'd give it a go. I knew nothing about it. So I had a nice surprise when I started it and saw that it's British!

Polly and her partner have a failed business and a failed relationship and have had to declare bankruptcy. She can't afford any of the flats where she currently lives and has no job prospects. So, she expands her search and ends up renting this old, worn down building on an island that can't be reached by road at high tide. As she builds on her love of baking, she gets to know the residents of her new home island.

I quite enjoyed this story. The only problem is that I'm now left wanting to eat all the bread. 😉

Nice and easy read. Delightful and fun. Different from what I usually read, but I liked this one.
