You know, this book had two things stacked very heavily against it... I don't rate short stories very highly and I hate holiday themed stories.  So it probably says something that I had a genuinely great time reading this novel, with many laugh out loud moments.  Crozier is still my absolute favorite and I was tickled pink over the scenes with him in it but the two leads were fun and interesting characters in their own right.

This isn't so much a novella as the last third of a romance novel. Unfortunately, the happy resolution is completely unsatisfying when the entire relationship buildup is covered in a couple of pages of "thinking back on" (shan't dignify this half-assed summary by calling it a flashback).

Listen here, I loved this book, but I understand that it's not really saying much because I really do love almost everything Charles brings to the table. I think her writing is consistently engaging and witty and she never writes down to her audience.
I really didn't see the twist coming from this one and that is something that doesn't happen to me often.
The only thing I will say is: the day that Charles writes a paranormal romance is the day my life will be over because, honestly, it will be peak.
Like imagine anything this woman has written but there is just a hint of magic or a vampire. It would kill me and I would die very, very happy.

Any way, another great one, good soup as always.
