Marked as read though I didn't read the second half. The psychology education holds no interest for me.

I was thrown off in the first half by the distanced recording of events. The psychological evaluation of life in a concentration camp is a fascinating one but the study was so short.

Haunting and beautiful. Such a unique perspective and lens to view the Holocaust from. I'm not sure what I was expecting going into this book, but it blew my expectations away and I loved it.

There is a lot of hype around this book and it didn't live up to it. It's strength lies in the personal narrative. Important historic storytelling. The rest is fairly straightforward. We all have a purpose/choices about how to live... It's true but not groundbreaking. Without the backdrop of personal experience it would be your basic bloviation.

The masculine pronoun also became tiresome after awhile ... It's all about man...

A good book that reminds you of the strength of hope during the times of despair. An easy read and also is easy to understand.

“We are challenged to change ourselves.”

This book is a cleverly written novella intended to draw all types of readers into a depressing and jarringly motivating first hand account of the holocaust. Its order of information is methodically placed, so readers that would usually refrain from subjecting themselves to reading about therapeutic tools, naturally stumble upon the useful analogies and mental exercises in the second half of the book. In this way he is furthering the scientific community/discovery by indirectly giving readers the ability to find meaning in their life no matter the circumstance thrust upon them.

Viktor Frankl's story is so incredibly profound. I recommend everyone to read this book because you will learn not only about his experiecnes, but his philosophies on how to find meaning in your life no matter what you are going through.

2.5 ⭐ (I didn't NOT like it)

I think upon another read I would like this book a lot more. This is a book that deserves your attention and your time. It is deep and philosophical and will make you use your brain.

I don't think this is a book that is meant to be read just once. I think this is a book to go back to again and again. With its size it isn't very intimidating, so it is just great for a revisit anyway.

While I didn't review this incredibly well, don't think this book is bad. It was deep and heavy and I did the audio version and I just don't feel like I pulled everything out of it that I should. The book is eye opening and great in so many ways. And I think the parts I was bored in that might reach out and slap me in the face if I do decide to read this again.
