Fantastic story and the audiobook was read by the author, who is a fabulous storyteller.

Listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend as it is narrated by Noah.

A nice, short, easy read, that provides autobiographical insight into life in post-apartheid South Africa. Probably more interesting to big fans of Trevor Noah.

Now that my interest is piqued, I'm re-considering a more challenging, much longer autobiographical read on the same subject: Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela (I borrowed this book from the library previously and had a few other books on the go, so I returned it. There was no way I was going to finish 600+ pages in 2 weeks!)

Probably the best I'll read all year. Great storytelling and an amazing life.

Highly entertaining but also a great insight into the social politics and the long lasting impacts of apartheid in South Africa. I was not particularly familiar with Trevor Noah before reading this book but had seen it recommended as a must read autobiography and I have to agree with that recommendation.

I had never heard of Trevor Noah before reading this book. But as I turned the pages, I felt the life of young Trevor and his mom in apartheid Africa become a reality in front of me. I loved the relation between the son and mom, they felt more like friends than parent-child.

I felt immense respect for Trevor's mom. Also, the commentary about domestic respect felt spot-on.
