One of the best memoirs I’ve ever read
Really liked it. Entertaining, light and funny even when dealing with serious topics, and educational regarding apartheid.

This was a fascinating look into Trevor Noah's earlier life. I love him on the Daily Show and the stand-up comedy I've seen from him is also delightful. Having heard him speak about growing up in South Africa is mostly what prompted me to read this book. I really enjoyed his insights on language being something that can easily bring people together or keep them apart. I've said many times that language can be a weapon and he provides excellent examples that show exactly how language can be weaponized.

Trevor Noah recounts his upbringing in South Africa and his difficult navigation of not fitting in with either the black community or his white friends.

An incredible memoir, one of the best I've read so far. Noah uses humorous stories from his childhood to adress political and social issues in South Africa. It's brilliantly written, making me laugh out loud as well as leaving me with my mouth hanging open. I would also highly recommend the audiobook as it is recorded by the author himself and includes his hilarious impersonations.
