"The Love Simulation" offers a fresh and charming perspective on the romance genre, combining classic tropes like rivals-to-lovers and forced proximity with an unexpected setting: a six-week Mars simulation.

Brianna is a dedicated vice principal striving to secure funding for a new library at her school. Roman is the charismatic science teacher—and the principal’s son—who may be vying for her job. To raise money for the library remodel, both of them signed up for a Mars simulation along with other staff members. This leads to close quarters, awkward encounters, slow-burn chemistry, and plenty of witty banter.

I initially found Brianna’s self-perception somewhat frustrating, but as the story progressed, I grew to understand and empathize with her. Roman also had great potential; however, I wish his character arc had been more developed, particularly in his relationships with both of his parents, not just his father.

The simulation itself was a highlight—unique and entertaining, like a reality show without the unnecessary drama. The school dynamics reminded me of "Abbott Elementary" in the best way, filled with heart and humor. While the overall plot wasn't groundbreaking beyond the space mission twist, it was a lighthearted and enjoyable read.

I don’t have much exceptional feedback for this book. I enjoyed it. It was cute and fluffy as expected. There was no trauma or even really any high stakes drama. Funny friendships. It was cute and I do recommend, however it was not a standout

This book was cute & I enjoyed it but it definitely would have benefited from being a dual POV

The two MCs falling in love didn’t feel organic. It felt like their relationship should have stayed a crush & the epilogue could have been them telling each other they love each other or how they went from like to love. I don’t think the book should have necessarily been longer but I don’t know. I do believe they liked each other I just didn’t see the deep love connection. I think dual POV could have changed that. Also, Bri crushed on Roman so hard & besides him being attractive we don’t really know why.

I feel like the issue they had during the third act breakup was too easily moved on from.

I think bri starting a foundation was very odd just because you don’t make a profit from a foundation for a long time do to quit her job to do that didn’t make sense. I know she had a business degree but still.

🌶️ This is an open door romance but it was pretty mild on the spice description/amount of scenes
