Etta Easton is 2/2 with me. The Love Simulation was so sweet, I might have a cavity. I was fully engaged in the story from page one and I stayed engaged until I reached the end. I thought the workplace, light enemies-to-lovers vibes were perfect, add in the forced proximity and you have the ingredients for a great romance. Brianna was funny and frustrating, I think I enjoyed her loosening up the most. Roman is so swoon and I could tell from the beginning that he was smitten with the Vice Principle. There was just the right amount of tension in this one as well. I do have to say that I would have LOVED to hear from Roman, just a chapter or two but that’s the only thing I would change about this one!!! Thanks to Berkley for the ARC, all thoughts and feelings are my own.

Huge thanks to Berkley and PRH Audio for the ARC! Brianna is the kind of teacher who’s all in to her school, the kids she teaches, and especially the library. So when the principal decides to prioritize a football field over upgrading the library, Brianna is understandably frustrated. To make her point, she teams up with other teachers for a summer-long competition where they simulate life on Mars. Think... isolation for six weeks, one tent (or space pod?), and plenty of forced proximity.
Enter Roman, the principal’s son, and her personal annoyance. Their tension throughout the simulation was chef's kiss. The slow burn, their back and forth bikering, and the undeniable chemistry they share as they try to make the mission work was so fun to read. Brianna thinks Roman is there to sabotage the whole thing, but it quickly becomes clear that he’s a lot more than just the principal’s son. As they work together, Brianna starts seeing a different side of him, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
The romance was sweet, funny, and had just the right amount of tension. I loved how their relationship evolved, and the whole idea of a Mars simulation just added this unique twist that made the book stand out.

Having recently read and enjoyed Etta's debut book, Kiss Countdown, I had high hopes for her second book! But found myself disappointed. I enjoyed that this book was still connected to the characters of the first - Breanna is Vincent's little sister. The story had potential and the main idea was cute, but I just couldn't get into it. Could have been I found the narrator to not fit the character, or that plus the story itself lacked something. Breanna was too in her head and the story felt one-sided. Throughout the book I felt myself physically cringing and getting annoyed. I liked the Mars simulation idea but idk, just didn't have the same vibes and I was left with reader's remorse.
