Save your time and buy a box of fortune cookies-- you'll get the exact same "wisdom" plus a cheap cookie.
Some of the worst analogies I've ever read are in the book and I've graded middle school English essays. People who applaud this book's depth must also scuba dive in puddles. Would never recommend except to mock

Kind of an interesting read but with a lot of ideas that seem watered down and inauthentic from an outside perspective.

DNF bei 58%
Ich dachte es wäre eine philosophische Abenteuerreise, stattdessen entpuppt es sich als ein Buch mit schlechten Weißheiten in billigen Metaphern wie man am Besten durchs Leben kommt.
Ähnlich wie "Das Café am Rande der Welt"
was bei mir sogar etwas besser abschneidet,
nur aus dem Grund,
dass Frauen dort respektiert werden und
nicht nur dazu da sind, um Männern ihren persönlichen Lebensweg zu erfüllen.

Abseits des misogynen Mists sind die Charaktere Flach und langweilig.
Es konnte mich nicht bei der Stange halten, musste ständig mit den Augen rollen oder Atemübungen machen um meinen Ärger zu kontrollieren.

I have heard lots of good things about The Alchemist so I hope I don't offend anyone with my rating! I think it has a really good message, but it just didn't capture my interest. There is a lot of repetition and I couldn't relate to the characters for some reason.
