My beagle's name is Goby, so I can relate alot to the story.
The book teaches us about love, death, and resilience in life.
And we are all like Toby, more or less, searching for the purpose of life.
It was a bitter sweet ending, and I was ugly crying at the end for whatever reason.
The book teaches us about love, death, and resilience in life.
And we are all like Toby, more or less, searching for the purpose of life.

Read this aloud with my daughter and it was way cuter than expected! It made us want to get another puppy.

I haven't read a Middle Grade book for fun in so long and same for a W. Bruce Cameron story, so it was exciting to be reading this story. It was a cute kind of tale, basically everything you would expect from a story about a puppy! However, as fun and adorable as this was, it also dealt with some serious themes, such as sickness and death. All of this is from the viewpoint of a puppy, so very child friendly, but still some serious topics. I definitely recommend this story for anyone with a child that loves animals, especially dogs. Or if you've enjoyed Cameron's A Dog's Purpose books, then you would definitely enjoy this story as well. I've actually got a few of these and I look forward to reading them in the future.

Very sweet story for someone who loves dogs. More of an elementary level but utterly enjoyable.
