“it’s nighttime now, and the moon is nowhere to be found, obstructed underneath clouds. there’s only the endless inky roll of the water.”

these constant one or two liners probably meant to sound poetic and literary instead felt so pretentious and annoying and almost out of place between simple dialogue and mediocre writing.

this book wasn’t BAD it was just…trying to be something it’s not. and that’s ok!

I couldn't seem to become interested in this book. I must be on a streak.

the premise of the roughest draft is something i really enjoyed, as i am total sucker for enemies to lovers. along with this, the slow burn dynamic between nathan and katrina was intriguing and left me wondering what happened between them in the past to lead to the evident tension between them. how we, as i was reading , i did find myself wishing this book went a bit deeper into moments such as when they first met and when they were first forming their friendship. the short chapters made it hard to stay locked into the emotions they were both feeling, making me not connect to nathan and katrina’s relationship as much as i wanted to. overall though, this was a fun light read that i would recommend, especially if you’re having an emily henry hangover!

This book is so beautifully written, it’s no wonder I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I hadn’t even noticed that it was written by a couple until the ending when I read the “About The Author” but that makes it all the more genuine. Between the secret messages hidden in Kat and Nathan’s writing, the turmoil that still continues to plague both of their thoughts, and the stunning chemistry that sparks between the two of them, I adored this book! This being only the second romance I’ve read, this is perfect for any lover of a suspenseful and ever changing relationship.
Highly recommend and I can’t wait to be able to tell people to pick it up!

I really have high expectations on this. I am disappointed. yeah, I like the storyline, plot even characters also. But it doesn't have the magic I am looking for. It was like they suddenly get into each other, but I don't see the reason likable.

how does every character just suck ?

The writing and the structure here were both really strong but I found the character’s central conflict a little lacking, and driven mostly by their inability to communicate effectively.

Cute! Well written. Very enjoyable read.
