If you wish you could read Beach Read for the first time then this comes pretty close!
Infidelity is pretty gross to read about to me, so the amount of emotional cheating was very cringey. Finished it, but at what cost? Not very interested or likeable, but the audiobook got me through several hours of otherwise mind numbing house and yard work.
it got a LITTLE repetitive and the lack of any stakes at all became more glaring the more it went on…..but I really couldn’t put it down and had a great time in the world!
I loved this book so much! It made me so unreasonably happy when they were writing each other into the characters they were creating. The flash backs when they trade chapters to revise we’re some of my favorite parts. I could’ve done without the subtle adultery but I loved it anyway

that was fine. i feel like if i didnt listen to the audio book that would be a different story. idk i liked the concept behind the book but i was never excited to read it. i definitely still liked it but it didnt click with me. the reason for their break up in the past was sooooooo fucking stupid it made me mad. think of something better there is genuinely nothing worse than authors who want to write a third act breakup (just dont do it) and the best they can come up with is “im afraid to commit to you because what if we break uo” like ohhhhh my goddddd you are fully grown adults get over it. heres a crazy idea! maybe you should act your age and just talk to each other! have a conversation! unreal i know…. and the fact that she tried to do it again after reuniting like i want to kill you. i will kill you. she annoyed me so badly. i feel like they definitely belonged together but it couldve been so much more simple if the fmc wasnt annoying and dumb.
