This is my least favourite book from Megan Miranda. I really didn’t like this story nor was intrigued by it.

- Tropes/themes:
- Transcripts, emails, journal articles, etc.
- Psychological trauma
- Unreliable narrator
- Childhood trauma
- Moral ambiguity
- Suspenseful but predictable.
- Super slow start.
- I had almost no interest in this plot and didn’t connect to the characters (I honestly couldn’t tell you who half of them were) so it felt like it dragged on.
- It was kind of a snooze which also made me miss important details.
- Relieved to be finished with it.
- Content warnings:
- Child abuse
- Murder/death
- Emotional abuse
- Stalking
- Missing child
- Drug abuse
- Confinement

I genuinely liked this story. I didn’t care too much for the ending tho so that’s why 4 stars. I don’t know it wasn’t a satisfying end to me but I still enjoyed the story and characters.
