This series just gets more intense with each episode. Wraith has been taken to the edge of death but is brought back. Is her near death, come back to life experience enticing enough to make her cave to Moloch's demands? Now that she has had a taste of what his dream world could be like, can she let it go?

'What am I going to do now? I'm afraid I know the answer: whatever Moloch asks of me.'

There is such evil in this book and characters that you just want to hate. I can't even imagine how Wraith is going to make it out alive and be able to save those she loves.

'...the only this that's ever been worse than dying, has been the possibilty of the people I love knowing the truth about what I am.'

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Penance mostly deals with the aftermath of the last episode and sets the stage for the last 3 episodes. I enjoyed this episode less then the earlier ones, not sure why exactly. Wraith is still alive and finding out about the price she has to pay. There's a scene where Wraith really shows her wits and hopefully manages to outwit Moloch.

The scene towards the end shows the true extend Moloch will go and it turn also a bit of Wraith's personality. The twist at the end surprised me, but now that I think about it, it follows the same pattern as the first season. I am curious what will happen next and if Wraith will get a happy ending.

We see a bit more from Wraith and Zachariel, although I really wonder how deep Wraith her feelings go for him. She cares, but I never got a feel exactly how much, although the scene at the end does show a bit. I really wonder what's going to happen to Wraith her friends now they got caught up in this. We also meet a new character, not sure how big a role he's going to play, but I did like him. Ishtar surprised me in this episode and I am wondering whether she has a nice side after all or if it's all an act. I can't get a feel for where her loyalties lie.

To conclude: My least favourite episode so far, but still interesting. It deals with the aftermath of the last episode and sets the stage for the rest of the season.

WHAT???? HOW CAN YOU END IT LIKE THAT SUE???? WTH? MORE MORE MORE NOW NOW NOW!

Now that I've calmed down and composed my thoughts, I'm going to tell you what I thought of this episode! I want to thank Ms. Quinn for trusting me to give an honest review of this little ditty. Receiving it for free has in no way altered my thoughts or review.

As with every other episode, this one picks up right where the last left off. If you haven't read the others, then you should probably stop here or it might spoil it all for you.

We find Wraith and Zachariel having joined not only their forces but themselves. And they begin to formulate a plan of escape. You can tell that Zachariel, while he says he's not in love with Wraith, certainly has an attachment to her and feels responsible for her. He also lets her in on his secrets, which were actually not too much of a surprise to me, but I wasn't 100% sure exactly what his secret was.

Wraith/Alexa continues to be one of the strongest female characters I have ever met. She is a bit hot headed and jumps into things without a plan at times. But for the most part she's super smart and really knows how to turn a situation to her advantage. I love that she got the upper hand somewhat in this episode as she continues to fight against the evil of Gehanna and Moloch.

Of course Quinn leaves us hanging in this episode, I think more so than any of the others so far. What clicked in my mind was how time is of the essence with whatever happens next. And I found my heart pounding in my chest with what could have happened. I was so scared for Wraith and Zachariel. I'm still scared for them. And I'm worried to lose the characters I have really grown to love. I have an attachment to them that I don't want broken.

Give me the next episode yesterday, please!
