I know that I liked it, but at the same time, it was very weird. There were so many new threads mixed in with the unsolved threads of the previous books. It will take some time to mull everything over.

Richard Gansey was failing to sleep. When he closed his eyes: Blue’s hands, his voice, black bleeding from a tree. It was starting, starting. No. It was ending. He was ending. This was the landscape of his personal apocalypse. What was excitement when he was wakeful melted into dread when he was tired.

this series has been so fun! i’m happy i finally got around to it. the vibes, characters, and writing quality are all spot on! the execution wasn’t always there, but the emotion makes up for it.

rush rush rush to the ending. romance is in the air, chaos is all around us, it’s ending ending ending and all that.

overall, the series has a great ensemble cast of super lovable characters with complicated (usually teenage) emotions, (mostly) unexplained magic that makes for great cozy spooky vibes, cool side characters and side quests, and beautiful writing that’s a great mix of getting it done and practically lyrical.

solid 4 star series. book #1 is definitely my favorite!

The Raven King is the last book in this series and ties thing up. Since I started this series late I did not suffer from the publishing gap between book 3 and 4! Overall I thought the series was a bit slow paced but still enjoyable. I think that it was a unique story and I liked most of the characters and could connect to them. This also stayed pretty firmly in the YA category and teens of all ages could read this.

The author does give you quite a lot of information to keep straight and I think that is why the pacing is a little slower. Even though we’ve been given a ton of info I do wish the situation with Noah at the end was explained better. I feel like I still don’t know the why of Noah’s role or the why Gansey even. Another character was Henry. I think it would have been better if he was around from the beginning of this tale. He came in later and I felt his part was not as well fleshed out as it could have been.

A couple of things I do have a bigger problem with are the relationship between Ronin and Adam. I just did not feel Adam was gay, so his and Ronin’s interactions just seemed off to me and just didn’t flow. The other part that bugged me was how quickly and tidily some of the plot threads were tied up. There was a bit of hastiness to it that felt out of the flow.

Overall I think if you read all the way to book 4 you will like the story overall and feel good that it’s all wrapped up.

this was a pretty enjoyable read for the most part. i feel like i like all the characters in different ways. i liked seeing adam's character development the most in this entire series like he's been my favourite raven boy since the start🙁🫶 ronan u absolute legend it's crazy how i used to dislike him at first but he really grew on me. blue, even though she does stuff i wouldn't do sh 's very admirable. gansey... he WAS the main character of this book actually. like everything they did was for him and i love that for him. noah honestly just seemed non existent for this and the last book.
even though i never cared about the romance between gansey and blue i am glad they're happy together. I LOOOVED ronan and adam  together, adam is just my favourite i can't help it. what i didn't like though was glendower not even being alive and gwenllian not even mentioning it but it could be that she didn't know. also noah being the one that whispered that into gansey's ear was such nonsense im sorry 💀
apart from that i enjoyed it I LOVE U ADAM

CHILLS. So many feels. So many questions, too?? I'm so glad we have another trilogy about Ronan coming out right now. Now excuse me while I recover from this empty feeling I have left in my insides. (And prepare for the next book(s))

I think this is one of the series I'm going to read again. This journey meant a lot to me.
