3.5⭐️This is my first time rereading it since I was like 10 years old and it’s definitely not as good as I thought it was. There are a lot of little changes from book to movie adaptation that I forgot about.

Excelent book. I did not want to put it down. The flow of the book was outstanding and the plot line kept me turning the pages. I cannot beleive how seemless the story was. Its a great competator for the hunger games series which has hit the college scene heavily, as of late. I would (and already have) highly recommended this book to multiple people. All I have left to say is that I am in love with a boy they call four.

Definitely could tell that this one is written for teens, unlike others in the genre, but I really enjoyed the story and thought the pacing was good. Some of the "surprises" are pretty obvious, and may be obvious to older or savvier teens. Overall, I thought it was a creative story with good pacing, and I enjoyed it.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. It's more that an oversimplified YA dystopian fiction.

I picked up this book while revising for my exams, under the assumption it would be a nice, easy read that wouldn't distract me from revision. Safe to say I underestimated Veronica Roth somewhat. I ended up using reading as a reward for 8 hour revision stretches.

I was instantly drawn into the dystopian world: far more so than the (excessive) other dystopian releases. Divergent reminded me of The Hunger Games, while still establishing a unique world of it's own.

For me, the development of realistic characters - heroes who are flawed and average-looking - seperates a good YA novel from Twilight ripoff. Divergent excelled in this respect. I hated, then loved Four. I loved, was betrayed, then forgave Al.

This novel proves that, among the hundreds of YA novels being thrust on shelves to replave Twilight and HP, there are still a few which are fantastic books in their own right and should be enjoyed as such.

The series was a huge disappointment.

This book was okay. It had its flaws but it kept me engaged enough that I would finish the series.
