“There's zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas.”
As a person who tends to talk a LOT in any group situation, it is hard to explain how much this book shifted my perspective and thinking. It affected my classroom, my evaluation of students, my friendships, and yes, honestly, my marriage. I still think about it and drop it into conversation regularly. Required reading for everyone--maybe, especially, the extroverts among us. (Edit, 6/4/18)

Original review: This was an eye-opening book for me: the introversion/extroversion spectrum explains so much about people's behavior. Super readable and fascinating - I've been referring to it in conversation at least once a day for weeks.

It crucial helped me to discover myself, I'm 17, and before reading this book I've always thought that my introversion was an illness and it's wrong to be an introvert, I've never thought of myself optimistically, thought that my needs for solitude is something wrong, but my view has changed, i have a deep insight on my temperment and on extroversion too, I reccomed really recommend to read this book as an extrovert, it'll teach you to lot about yourself.

As an introvert, I appreciate the rah-rah attitude of this book and its strong message that, in our culture that is so heavily focused on being outgoing and communicative, being an introvert is not something to be ashamed of, but in fact something to take pride in, especially since we make up one-third to one-half of the population. Citing a lot of social science research, the author shows that introverts tend to be more thoughtful and conscientious. Often, though, I felt that her definition of what an introvert is was incredibly fluid, so she could survey a large variety of research that doesn't necessarily deal with introversion as much as sensitivity and other factors. Still, it is worth reading and considering, especially if you're an introvert or the significant other of one.
Despite the subtitle and presumed teacher audience I thought Quiet provides excellent, insights of both extroverts and introverts and their dynamic. As an introverted scientist it was fascinating to read about the research intertwined with Cain's personal story that of the book to bring home the many lessons and messages of the book. I certainly will take what I've read and apply it to my own life, surroundings and interpersonal relationships. As a non US reader though, sometimes the references to certain American aspects, people etc escaped me which took away some of the experience. Nevertheless, a book I would recommend!

There was a tiktok challenge that recommended this book and it affirmed that I am an introvert that has learned to put on an extroverted mask when the need/occasion arises.
Very informative, well paced, and well written.
