You know the feeling when you know you are right, but you don't say anything because you don't want to start an argument, or seem demanding, and then after a while, it comes out in the open that you were right the whole time and you feel totally vindicated? That's how I felt the whole time I was reading this book.

A great read. For the first time I actually feel proud to be an introvert.
I so deeply appreciated this book. As a woman who identifies as an introvert yet functions 75% of the time as an extrovert I found Cain's insights and research helpful in articulating my own experience.
Cain did a good job of naming and claiming the value of both ends of that disposition spectrum acknowledging that it takes us all and in different situations all of us are needed.
Either as an introvert or extrovert I would recommend this book as it provides clarity for a variety of relationships, from those with our selves to romantic partners to bosses and employees. It provides a framework for empathy and healthier interactions.

This book really made me realize that perhaps I am completely normal when I feel uncomfortable in social situations, when I am terrified to call strangers on the phone, and when I get exhausted by parties and gatherings. Susan Cain proved to all the introverts in the world that even though much of American society is totally focused on the extrovert ideal, introverts are perfectly normal and important people as well.
