it was a sweet quickie.... got a little look at one of the side characters... and a bit more of the magi world.

Short and sweet!

This story detailing the connection between Ingrid and Rob was so sweet! I mean "Dr. Ken Doll Assface" got his love story. And he ended up being sweeter than I thought. The impression of him in the previous book made him seem like an asshole but that could have just been Zed's impression lol. Either way. I loved it.

Not sure why they used two different voice actors for the exact same characters...I wasn't a fan.

This Audible Original novella was an adorable mix of paranormal and just-moved-to-a-small-town romance (and yes, that is a real thing). It felt like watching that TV show Heart of Dixie, but with tree nymphs and dragons. The story was face paced, quirky, and fun - just what I wanted in a quick little romance. At just over 3 hours, it gets you into a cute little story pretty darn quickly.

The characters were interesting. Ingrid was a smart and driven heroine and Rob is a sweet and thoughtful hero. I'm actually sad it was so short because I found myself wanting more of them after it was over with. We get a little bit of character development, but there was just not enough time for a true "arc" or transformation. I haven't read the other books in the series before, but what we got in terms of the side characters was sweet and funny.

Overall, a quick, cute, and romantic story about a little paranormal town in Louisiana and a couple that finds themselves drawn to each other. Is it original? No. Was it cute, funny, and brought a smile to my face? Yes.

Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues is a short novella in the Mystic Bayou series by Molly Harper and narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis.

Ingrid is our Tree Nymph. She’s felt the pull of the Rift and has finally deiced to head it’s call. She plans to raise cows and open a creamery. She’s leery of human males; because she was once hurt by one.

Rob is a League scientist. He’s attracted and drawn to Ingrid, but he knows he needs to go slow. Yet his attempts at wooing Ingrid push her further away.

It’s always fun to return to the Bayou. The focus was strictly on the budding relationship between Rob and Ingrid. We get very little on the Rift, other then the knowledge that the problem is rapidly growing. I liked learning about Ingrid’s backstory and that she’s a new type of paranormal. I also enjoyed her interactions with the different Mystic Bayou regulars. The romance is sweet and gentle

I enjoyed listening to Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues. My only issue is that it was to short. I would’ve liked more.

Audio: As with previous books in the series the story is shared in a dual narration with Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis. Amanda reads Ingrid’s POV and Jonathan reads Rob’s POV. They both did a great job and they did well in the accents for each character. I liked Ingrid’s Norwegian accent the best. Overall I enjoyed the audio.

Silly, a little bit dull. I really didn't like the female narrator. Her Norwegian accent sounded mechanical, and her male voice was ridiculous.

Interesting. A shorter story, would be better if more depth was given
