Great personal insight into mental health with practical exercises and explanations! I listened to the audiobook, Dan's narration was fantastic.
as a therapy girlie of over 3 years, this definitely didn’t teach me much that I didn’t already know. it did, however, make some of the things I’ve learned in therapy more applicable after hearing Dan’s anecdotes about his own life and adding the exercises within the book. sometimes having someone else explain the exact same concept slightly differently really does make a difference.
this is a great read for gaps in therapy

Good as an introductory book to mental health, but a lot of the information was basic and most of it was knowledge I've already gained from therapy. The editing was also not great for a published book. I did enjoy the tone and storytelling aspect however.
I don't typically read nonfiction, but I'm glad I picked this up. It is interesting to read and I feel like I genuinely learned something. I can see myself picking this up in the future to read a specific part and use some of the exercises described.
would be a really good book for someone still new and learning about mental health or starting their journey
for me, it was filled with information and techniques I already knew, but was still a really good read and a great reminder

This is an excellent introductory guide to mental health, filled with tools and exercises to help anyone start paying more attention to the way they feel. By all means, not a replacement for therapy, but a reliable start to the process, and one that makes the idea of asking for help less intimidating.
I personally found myself more drawn to select areas- the ones that affect me the most- but I do feel like I'll be going back and looking closer at some of the other exercises as they become more applicable to my circumstances.
