This was a great young adult romance. It was a really cute story and I was really invested in the story. I really liked both Jax and Sadie but a little bit of my heart was stolen by Marcus, and I’m so glad that he will be featured in the next book in the series. The story had the same feel as the Rosemary Beach series that I loved and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

I found this book so unreal and unlikely. I also hate how possessive the male characters are in Abbi Glines books. I mean really, I get caring about and pining for a person, but the way the men act in these books is so unhealthy for both the women and men I just don't think I can do it anymore. I get that is the trope, I suppose, virginal innocent woman/girl, meets sexually advanced possessive man, but I guess that trope just doesn't work for me...

Well... the less said about this story the better.

I am a sucker for the kind of romance where a celebrity falls in love with a regular joe. One of my all time favorite romance novel - or novel, period - is Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James. But unlike that story, this one had a lot of red flags.
- Sadie works for Jax, so the power dynamic there is very troubling, especially since Sadie repeatedly tell us that she really needs the job for her family's survival.
- There was apparently only two outcome to Jax meeting Sadie, either she was a fan who would have to fired or she wasn't, in which case, Jax was intrigued and wanted to get to know her. So I guess there was no third option where he would leave her the fuck alone!
- Sadie, oh, Sadie, the plain and simple girl who seems to attract the attention of every hot guy around here. Also, why are you so gullible?

The problems sadly don't end here, I am just lazy to go through the book to find other various instances that irked me.

I might give Abbi Glines other books a try if the synopsis ever intrigue me, but definitely not gonna be holding my breath :p

Definitely not the intended audience for this one but it was still enjoyable. Sadie was such a sweet MC and I adored her. However, I can't say the same for our male lead.

So this was my favorite book in 2 months for about 2 weeks I think. And that is saying something because I usually read 3-5 books a week and they don't stay my favorite in their period of time for very long. Even now parts of it are stuck in my head. I think their stuck with super glue actually.
From the beginning I was trapped in these pixilated pages. Abbi Glines style of writing seems... unique to me. Though the writing was very formal (which sorta tried to kill my love for this book but came nowhere near succeeding) I loved Abbi's choice in words for almost everything. There definitely were some cheesy parts in this but I am a total cheesy moment fanatic so it was not as much of a bother to me as it might be to som- most people. The songs that were included were great, if still including a little cheesiness.
As Sadie starts working at the huge mansion on private island... well it sorta says what's going to happen in itself.

Girl + Hot Famous and/or Rich Guy = Lovely, Cheesy Romance

That's pretty much it when it comes to her intro into the book. The rest is pretty predictable but that does not mean I don't love it. I mean, it's rare you get to read a book like this, in a good way, very often because they are just... usually not published. From what I here the print edition has some of the "cheesier parts" taken out and/or changed so I am definitely looking forward to that.
So back to the review of this edition/format. As Sadie's love story unravels, you get experience the dream romance every girl has at least once in her life. Everything in Breathe is written how quite a few, more stubborn, girls might think. I say stubborn because that is the only word that can describe how Sadie is to me... that or humble I guess.
Have you read Breathe? What's your take on this quirky little story? Maybe little is not the word for it to some people but it fits for me. Tell me in the comments... or not. You know, do what you please. :P

Notes: When I get the money my older brother owes me I'm going to order the print edition and compare it to the ebook edition.

This is Jax and Sadie's story. Jax is a rock star and Sadie is not interested in letting anyone in or becoming like her mother, all she wants to do is remain invisible. Their paths cross when Sadie ends up working for Jax in his summer home and she becomes anything but invisible to him. I want to start out by saying
I loved this book. I never read reviews before I read a book and this is the first time I did. I saw a lot of bad reviews and after reading this book I'm not sure why. This is a new adult book and is predictable at times. It's a great story about love between two people from two totally different worlds. It is a nice start to the sea Breeze series and you meet some of the characters that are the center of later books.

4.5 stars. :)

The book was ok. It could be cute at times. But sometimes it was just a little too lovey dovey. He said that she was his air. Really? I think that was just a tad bit melodramatic.

Plus I didn't like that Sadie completely cut herself off from the world after she had been broken up with. Not eating and sitting in the dark. It was too much and sent the wrong message.
