I completely loved this book... The author did an amazing job with the characters, she made them really believable, like they actually existed, and i sure somewhere in the world there is someone like Sadie, and also someone like Jax... Every time i read a line i just imagined it happening in front of my eyes. For me its definitely one of the best books ever been written... And the fact that i read the book in about 9 hours makes it even more amazing, considering i was sick and that i was doing other things at the same time that i read...

I don't think that I have ever given a book a one-star rating, but the time has finally come.
I'd ordered this book for my library's teen collection. When it arrived and I saw the cover and I honestly wasn't positive that the book was for my department. The image of the girl helping the guy take his shirt off just struck me as a little forward for teen books. But after ensuring that this book was, in fact, one that I had selected I felt the need to inspect the contents of the book a bit more closely to see if they matched the cover art.
I didn't read the entire book word for word, but I did skim through it pretty thoroughly. Sure enough, I found something like four long, very graphic sex scenes. To give you an idea: I actually started in the back of the book and on the last two pages we see the horny main characters dry-humping, talking about their past phone sex encounters, and ready to move on to private quarters to finish up. Other scenes in the book dealt with similar sexual content in an even more graphic manner. On top if it, while skimming the text between sexual encounters it seemed to me that the two main characters were drawn very poorly and that the writing itself was full of cliched wish fulfillment.
Let me make one thing very clear: I have no problem with sex in books for teens. Sometimes it's actually necessary, and I do think that it's important to not shy away from that kind of content when it can lend something to the book. My big issue with this book is that the whole point of this book seemed to be the sex. And something about reading these scenes between a teenager and a young adult (um, statutory rape, anyone?) just seemed creepy. Maybe it's because I'm an adult. But I didn't like it at all, and I can't think of a single person under the age of 18 that I could give this book to.
The book reads just like a Harlequin romance. I generally don't read or enjoy these types of romances, though I admit that I have read a couple in my time. I have no problem with their existence, nor do I have a problem with other people enjoying them. That's fine. I even kind of get the appeal. Sometimes we don't want well-drawn, realistic characters. Sometimes we just want great chemistry and to pretend that we can have it all and live happily ever after, just like the heroines in romances typically do. The real kicker here is that these books are written for adults who theoretically should be better equipped to separate fantasy from reality, and I don't like the idea of giving something like that to a young teenager. Teens have enough else on their plate without being given the message that it's okay to forget about all of your other responsibilities as long as love with a rock star and great sex come from it. I mean, I'm very pro-love and I'm all for great sex. But this book in my opinion doesn't deal with either topic in a way that is appropriate or constructive for teenagers.
If I had read this exact same book knowing it was targeted at adults and with the characters being at least two years older than they are (heck, that would have been a very easy book to write!), I would have had no problem with this book at all. I wouldn't have given it a five-star rating or anything (probably three stars is I were in a good mood and not feeling finicky about the writing, two if I were in a mood where bad writing would really bother me), but at last I wouldn't have come away from the book feeling like a major creeper.

It's sweet and teenagey and reminds me of being 14 with fantasies of having a celebrity fall in love with me as I led a modest, almost pitiful life.
Hmmm. The instalove was rough, but it was a short quick read.
I don't think it was nearly as awful as some of the reviews I have read. It was a cute story about teenage love.
Well .. I liked this book .. I wasn't crazy about it ... and i muched preferred Abbi Glines The Vincent Boys series... This is the type of book you read once.. is a nice, light, quick read, and i did like the characters... however my only problem was the fact that the 'I love you' came waaaaaaaay too quickly.. i mean i think they had bout 3 conversations before she said she was "in-love".. and I always like the love-triangle.. and was a bit upset not to see Marcus have a bit more action.. or Sadie react a bit more toward Marcus... However it's a fun book to read.. and especially for summer .. :D I did like Jax.. but.. for some reason i wasn't as in-love with him as i usually am with the male lead.. i found myself more interested in Marcus !!! So i am now going to read 'Because of Low' to get my Marcus 'fix' !! xD
