Wasn't overly impressed with this book.
It's an easy read.
Just finished the second in the series and found it much better.

First book by Abbi Globes, I loved it. I didn't realize this was a YA series, but excellent all the same. I'll definitely finish the series but I'm gonna try her adult stuff, writing is good so I'm looking forward to an adult story.
lighthearted medium-paced

Flaws of characters a main focus: No

Sadie is forced to take her mom's job cleaning for the elite as she is too far along in her pregnancy to work anymore (this is a bitter part for me more on that later).  While she is working she realizes that she is working for Jax Stone, the teenage heartthrob rock star.  Sadie knows that he is sexy but she also knows that she needs this job to make sure that there is enough money to pay the bills once her mom's baby comes along and she is back in school and can no longer work.  Jax is drawn to Sadie and as much as he tries to stay away from her because a relationship with her won't work while he is touring the world, he just can't stay away.

I enjoyed this story.  I liked the characters.  I loved how they all fell in love with Sadie and wanted to be her found family and she was kinda oblivious that was happening.  I loved how sweet and adorable Jax and Sadie were together.  Her mom annoyed me to no end.  She didn't deserve the devotion that Sadie gave her.  But Jax and Sadie were super sweet and cute.  My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.  Looking forward to more in this series.

I am running for my life. This book is, in all honesty, shit .

Sadie : If "mature for her age" means "naive new born cinderalla", then "mature for her age" she is.
Her mom is another "wtf woman!" character, but that doesn't makes me sympathetic of her for more than 2 chapters. She regularly denies that she's pretty.. which I don't think is "modest".. rather "ungrateful" because hello! Not everyone gets good looks! She is "compassionate" because she helps an old dude with arthritis with the garden and plays chess with him.. how sweet! My perfect Mary Sue! chef's kiss

I really enjoyed this book. The reason I bought it was because it was with the first 4 books and it was only $15. The 2 sex scenes were awkward when reading the book in front of your PARENTS. I tried to keep a straight face while reading them but I couldn't. I was so happy at the end like omgs yes.

I am really liking Abbi Glines' writing! I enjoyed this book, not as much as the Rosemary Beach series but it is a close second so far. This book had a really well executed plot and characters that grew with the writing.

(Found reviews on my computer for books I read last year that I never posted so that is why I have written as if it was back then)
