My very first venture into the world of amazing novels penned by Abbi Glines, definitely can't wait to read more. I could definitely get used to the town of Sea Breeze!
Mrs. Glines you have took my heart and most of my money. I'm in love with this series thus far. I read this book in less than a day and that's sayin' something. I want my own Jax Stone, because dang the boy can sing, he's sexy, rich, he's sexy... But I also love Sadie. We could be friends (as long as she doesn't mind me looking at her boyfriends butt : )) I'm giving this book 5 wonderful stars for all smexy scenes and hot boys :3
Breathe by Abbi Glines is about a 17 year old girl, Sadie, who starts working at a summer house in place of her pregnant mother. Sadie has enough problems in her life and she doesn't need anymore. She doesn't realize, however, that she will be working for teenage heartthrob and worldwide rockstar, Jax Stone. But unlike most girls, Sadie isn't fazed by his money and fame. She is charmed by the real boy underneath it all, and Jax becomes equally as enchanted in her as she is in him. But problems will eventually come to surface when your life is bathed in the spotlight.
This is the second Abbi Glines book I've read and I've got to say it. This girl knows how to create a story. I think all books surrounding teenage girls/young women are the same when it comes to romance. So, this is no exception. But it is a really good book! (Except for a sentence or two. "I needed food." This is what Sadie said at the end of Chapter 1. NO! Never again end a chapter with such as blunt and cringe worthy sentence again. Please and thank you. Like I know I'm not an author or anything but that sentence literally hurt me.) Other than that, it was predictable and exactly what I wanted. YAY! 4 stars for Ms.Glines!

just a reminder but this is the worst book ive ever read in my life
4.5 Stars
“You’re every song I have ever sung. I’ll never let anything hurt you again. For the first time in my life, my dreams aren’t about me.” I lifted my eyes up to meet his, and he smiled. “They’re about you.”
Sadie White isn't your average teenager. She isn't in to all the drama, all the swooning over stars, or making friends. Sadie is a very grown up seventeen year old. Her life consists of taking care of her pregnant mother and worrying about bills and rent. So when summer comes around and schools out, Sadie is forced to go work to support herself and her mother. She will be taking her mother’s position as a maid in the lush home of Jax Stone, the teenage Rock Superstar. But Sadie only cares about making money to make ends meet not some snobby rich star. She could work for Jax Stone without being affected. Sadie is about to find out that she is being delusional.
Jax Stone isn't everything the public makes him to be out. Jax Stone loves his career but loves going home every summer. He seeks out the quiet and peacefulness found in his hometown of Sea Breeze. Nothing can happen that could change his life during three months, he just needs a break. Jax Stone is about to find out that he is also being delusional.
After Jax and Sadie meet Jax is instantly attracted to the blond hair blue eyes beauty. What makes it so much sweeter is knowing that she isn't affected by his stardom. To the point where she doesn't even listen to his music. With that in mind Jax welcomes the breath of fresh air Sadie brings to his life. As they grow closer and get to know each other more they can't help but be scared of what is happening. They are falling in love but know that they only have three months of being together. Life must go on for Jax after the Summer. There is no place for Sadie in his whirlwind life.
Can these two make it through the summer? Will hearts be broken? Read and find out!
First off let me tell you that I totally devoured this book in hours! Many people criticized this book as cheesy and not so great but I'm glad I didn't listen and read this. Yes Jax totally was cheesy in some parts but he was just perfect. He had me smiling from ear to ear with his beautiful words and protective nature. Jax totally has the "melting hearts" gig down packed. :-) And just to make you swoon more check out Jax's song to Sadie "Don't Cry" HERE---> http://soundcloud.com/abbi-glines/dont-cry
I enjoyed that Sadie wasn't a blubbering mess of a girl fan but I was upset that she was such a push over. Her mother was a terrible mother and she just took it without protesting. She also seemed to push Marcus and his friend’s away right after Jax showed up and I thought that was rude of her. Totally understood why she wanted to be with Jax and adored him for wanting to be apart of her world but she seemed to only want to be with him ALL the time!
And Marcus, I have to talk about Marcus because he just made this book receive the last 1/2 star in rating. If I adored Jax, then I LOVED Marcus. Talk about sweet, caring, protective and so amazing! Although he wasn’t the one for Sadie he didn’t stop being her best friend. He wanted her to be happy and if her happiness was Jax then he could accept it. I was sad for him but I knew Sadie was not the one for him. I can’t wait to read his story next! :-) A whole book of Marcus is just what is needed after Breathe!
A Marcus quote that just made me love him more: “I used to think he didn’t deserve your love, but now I think he may just be as in love with you as you are with him. I want you to be happy, and if he makes you happy, then that’s all that matters.”
If you want to read a summer romance, pick up Breathe. It is chuck full of romance, sweet quotes and more than two great guys! You will not be disappointed.

It’s the first day of Summer break for Sadie White. And just as she suspected her Mom, Jessica, has sucked her into working for her. Jessica is 7 months pregnant and uses that as an excuse not to work, but Sadie, being the actual adult in the equation, knows they need the money to keep a roof over their head…so off she goes.
Sadie arrives at the house where her Mom is working. Reluctantly Sadie is given the opportunity to prove herself…and she does, taking over for her Mom. What Sadie doesn’t know is that the house is the summer getaway of Jax Stone, 19 year old, Rock Star.
Sadie doesn’t have time for the like of Jax Stone…she’s too busy trying to raise her Mom and keep a roof over their head. Sadie’s lack of interest is what draws Jax to her. He needs to know what makes her tick. But anything that happens between them will be limited to the Summer while he is on vacation and before he has to rejoin his world tour.
OK…after reading 2 Abbi Glines books, I needed a third to get me through work on Saturday and I couldn’t put this one down either. What can I say, I am a sucker for Abbi Glines!
Loved Sadie! She is so down to earth. Her life has been hard and she is a little resentful, but does a good job of hiding it. She is not likely to accept help from anyone. I think she is afraid of relying on anyone because all her life she’s only had herself to rely on. And Sadie could have, so easily, abandoned her Mom but didn’t. I wanted to slap Jessica, but remembered it was a work of fiction and calmed myself down.
Jax was a great guy. And a total work of Fiction…Somehow I just can’t imagine a 19 year old rock star being that easy going and romantic. All the best romance writers are women…have you noticed that? Guys, for the most part, just don’t get it. And Glines, can write romance. This particular romance didn’t progress past the kiss, but man did it massage the brain…lots of sweet nothings which all women fantasize about their significant other saying to them. Yep, I’m sure I will be reading this one many more times in the future!

A sweet and cute read indeed. It was predictable but still gave me the feels. I like how the characters are young but mature enough to make their decisions. Moreover, the young love wasn’t cheesy to me at all.
2.5⭐️ gah it just like was not good at all. The beginning was sort of cute? I didn’t love the writing style and one the main characters fell in love it just got cringey
3⭐️ I didn’t like this book like I thought I would. The book felt immature to me so I didn’t like the book that much. There were some parts I did enjoy though. This book is a small town romance with a rockstar as the main male character.
