Definitely not the intended audience for this one but it was still enjoyable. Sadie was such a sweet MC and I adored her. However, I can't say the same for our male lead.
Sadie is the daughter of the town... hussy, and with her mother pregnant, she has to work to bring money for their family. Somehow magically, her mother snagged a job to work for Jax Stone, the teenage heartthrob of the nation. But since she can't work on account of her pregnancy, Sadie must step in. Sadie manages to make Jax fall in love with her no-nonsense self and then the two fall deeply in love. Unfortunately, Jax has to go away because he is a rock star and doesn't want to "hurt" Sadie with the paparazzi and media. Oh, I forgot that Marcus is another boy that works with Sadie for Jax who is also in love with her, but who notices Marcus when they have JAX, the TEENAGE ROCK STAR IN THE HOUSE?! Sadie hits head head on a rock and goes into a coma.
Then... the book ends happily ever after.

Twiddles thumbs. I don't know what I was even expecting from this book. It obviously isn't going to get any deeper than this.

I started to shake my head when Mary Ann walked up and slipped her arm inside his. “Well, hello, Sadie. All alone tonight?” I smiled at her because, really, she was just a very insecure silly girl.

Oh no, I sooo wanted to like this book, but looking at my other reviews, I had to give this a 2 :/ The writing was really beyond me, the way Sadie spoke and thought, it felt backward to me. I felt she was hollow or something and everything was so forward... One minuteshe was totally against falling for him, and the next she LOVES him??? I really cringe when that happens in books because there is no way that Sadie can love him by 2 or 3 meetings!! So I was disappointed really :(
This book was so amazing!!!! Yes it might be a teenybopper book, but that doesn't mean that it still won't have you on the edge of your seat, waiting to find out what happens next! If you are looking for an enjoyable, light, heart-warming story, then look no further! Hope this review helps you choose this great book!
didn't like the puppy love sap personally. maybe if they were older and not teenagers. blah. not a bad story just young
If you wanted to see Bella and Edward do it without the tampon-yanking scene of FSoG, this is the book for you. "I'm the world's favorite teenage rock star" is a pretty unbeatably cheesy line and par for the entire course of this book.
This book is the run of the mill contemporary romance book. There is nothing unique about the story. I didn't really like any of the characters in this story and had no connection to anything that happened.
I was underwhelmed. Not crazy about the writing style... a little awkward for me. Good story though. I'm hoping for more from the next one.
Pros: I really liked the characters, setting, and storyline behind this book.
Minor Cons: In the beginning, I felt like a lot of the scenes to get the couple together seemed contrived and unrealistic.
There started out being some conflict development with Jax's mother, but after her first scene she disappeared from the story completely as if she didn't live there.
Also, the way Jax spoke in the beginning was over the top. Unless he was British or from the 19th century, a 19 year old boy would not be saying stuff like "I'll supply her with a ride home", "If I'm not mistaken", and the majority of his vocabulary. Funny thing was, in his POV scenes he did talk normally.
Overall I guess I would say I liked it, but it had plenty of room for improvement.
Update: I re-read this one and while I maintain my earlier comments, I decided to up it from a "Just Okay" 2 star rating to at least a 3 star "I liked it" rating because I really did like the storyline, if I just upped my suspension of disbelief a bit more.

So I re-read the updated version. This one has Jax's point of view as well as being steamier. It definitely fits better with the series now.
