I thoroughly enjoyed this and I look forward to the next book. My complaint is that the chapters felt long and dragged out. For me, it’s not a book you can binge read. I could only read a chapter or two at a time.
I really love Everest. She’s been through so much shit and to watch her transform into such a badass was great.

As always, this was pure torture!!! So much damn betrayal. So many unnecessary deaths this early on. Ugh. Why do they always do this to us??!!

Unsure if I’ll read book two when it comes out. The pacing of this was slow and a lot of the time I didn’t really feel pulled to care about the characters.

A really great story, feeling like a darker, adult version of the elements of ATLA meets the academic magic boarding school of Harry Potter. I could not guess any of the plot twists and turns. Eagerly starting the next book in the series.
