Again, not a poetry gal. But this is a breathtakingly beautiful collection. I really, truly enjoyed (and could understand in a way) these poems.

This was utterly beautiful. So raw, so much history and culture woven in, I absolutely loved reading this. Warden Shire is an incredible talent! This book talks about a lot of different topics, but brings them all across with such emotion and such clarity!

If you read any poem from this book, let it be ‘backwards’

One of the strongest and most moving collections I have ever encountered.

"Bless the Daughter Raised by a Voice in Her Head" by Warsan Shire is a diverse poetry collection that covers everything from growing up to spirituality, sexuality, and politics. Some poems are extraordinary, making you pause and reflect, while others offer relatable, everyday moments. Shire's raw and thought-provoking words make this collection a captivating read, touching on the various facets of life. It's a well-rounded, emotionally resonant anthology that's well worth exploring.
