Determined to prove herself to her battle-born sisters, Diana goes against every rule of her island by saving a mere mortal. In doing so she may well have put the fate of the entire world at risk? Will she be able to reach the glory she has dreamed of her whole life?
I really liked that this books placed Diana in a different context to what we know and for the most part I think that the other characters worked well together to keep the story moving. They all appeared very believable and natural. I did feel that the pace dragged in a few areas and I personally wasn't so keen on the plot twist near the end of the story. However one thing I really loved was the use of the Greek Gods and mythology woven throughout- there wasn't too much of it so as to seem unnecessary and was all relevant to the plot.
Although I don't feel strongly one way or another about this book, if you're a fan of DC and Wonder Woman I would definitely recommend giving it a read.

This was a great action-packed read full of diverse characters who all had a great dynamic with each other. In addition, it's an interesting take on the origins of Wonder Woman, whose origin story has changed slightly multiple times in the century she has been a character.
Also, the way this book empowers women is enough of a reason to read it. For example, there is a scene in which a character turns out to be a jerk, and tries to use the fact that he was the main character's first kiss as a way to get to her, but she says he wasn't her first anything, and is instead an insignificant detail in the whole of her life. This detail is so important in a book aimed at teenagers, and it's something I wish I had seen in books more when I was 19-21.
My reasons for not giving this book the full 5 stars is the fact that I'm not a fan of the "surprise villain" trope, because being re-introduced to the same character again once they reveal that they are a villain doesn't usually work for me.
Also, I feel like the story could have used some more information on why the people who are after Alia know about how she is a danger to humankind. Because the way it's set up, the protagonists are running from a faceless enemy and that's it.

It may not be a surprise coming from the woman who INSISTED that she WAS Wonder Woman starting at age four, but I loved this story. I wasn't sure what to expect, and my love for Wonder Woman made me nervous because I wanted it to be done well, and it was. I loved this glimpse into Diana's life and world, and LOVED the entire Warbringer storyline. Highly recommend!
Attempting to read through my Nook and this was a pleasant surprise. Great twist at the end, too.
Doubting between 4 and 5 stars here (and who knows my way of rating books, knows that's a big compliment). I'm not a big superhero fan, but I am a fan of Leigh Bardugo, so I had to read this book anyway and it didn't disappoint. I loved the characters, pretty much all of them, I loved the incorporation of the old Greek mythology and especially the Amazons in the modern age. In short... I'm so glad I got this book! (I managed to finish it in one afternoon and it's a very long time ago I managed to sit down that long to read)
I give it 4,5!!!
Soooo great! Leigh Bardugo instantly become my favorite writer. The twist and turn in this book are so fun and I can't put it down.

A New Telling of the Wonder Woman story
I really liked the descriptions of Themyscira and Diana's relationships with her mother and Amazon sisters. I liked the characters and the relationships between them. I love mythology. I just thought the book was slow in places. Some of the conversation seemed unnecessary and boring. 3.5 stars. I know that Leigh had to work with a lot of Wonder Woman canon. Some of the parts seemed out of place, but investigation showed me that they were canon. Other partsof the book are brilliant.

I just finished this book, and I have ALL the feels right now.

I'm a sucker for the whole 'plucky band of teens saves the world' so this was really in my wheelhouse.
Wonder Woman is a fun, action packed and entertaining read.
