Oh. My. God. That was absolutely fantastic. All the stars in the world to this super fierce, action-packed and kickass masterpiece of a book. Kudos to the queen aka Leigh Bardugo <3

I miss my babies already omg I loved all these characters so much?????? Theo is my precious cinnamon roll that needs to be protected at all costs! And the female friendships in this book were so beautiful, I'm tearing up <333 AND all the characters are POC (except Diana) and it's just fabulous!!! I need to reread this book ASAP.

Full review is now up on my blog: https://toomuchofabooknerd.wordpress.com/2017/08/30/review-wonder-woman-warbringer-leigh-bardugo/ (spoiler: I AM LOSING MY SHIT)

oh, and thank you to Penguin Random House UK for sending me an early copy of this book I OWE YOU FOREVER AND EVER <333

Okay so this was baby's first DC and Wonder Woman exposure (beyond like easy reader children's books) and also baby's first Leigh Bardugo book and WOW. Literally no context for this but I had a feeling it'd be good and yes, it in fact was! I love when women are allowed to be the main characters and their arc isn't just oHhH rOmAnCe but actual empowerment and friendship. I love the way Bardugo presented the Amazons and heck, even the outfit. It felt very actual strong girl and not insecure-male-fantasy and I highly enjoyed this. For my first little foray into Superhero Stuff™ it was a lovely ride.
I loved how chill the little Alia & Theo story was. Normal! Not rushed! Eventually they have a nice little conversation and then get back to saving the world! And the Jason little storyline was brief enough to not be irritating so no stars lost there. Also Nim you have my entire heart I loved her from the second she came onto the screen.
Highly enjoyed and I may even foray into a couple more books in this universe...I have been Percy Jackson Prepared for the whole 'mythology in real life' sort of thing. Enjoyed. 4 stars because it was just a fun book!

(Prose novel, not a graphic novel or comic book format)

Can Leigh Bardugo just do a whole young DC heros series?

I loved this book! It was a little slow in the middle but boy did it hit all the right points that left me feeling super powerful at the end and wanting more.

We start with Wonder Woman herself at the beginning hoping to impress her fellow Amazons by trying to win a track race, only she gets distracted when she sees a boat sinking beyond Themyscira and hears the cry of a drowning girl. The girl is Alia, a descendant of Helen, the face that launched a thousand ships, who is also of mix race. Alia is the daughter of famous biologists who made a fortune and name for themselves known as Keralis Labs. Turns out that being the descendant of Helen and being a woman means you are a Warbringer aka cause wars/conflict, and with her arrival to Themyscira the island begins to perish and Amazons become ill, Diana makes the choice to go and end this curse on Helen's line and save Alia.

That is the general plot but there is a twist that got me pretty good. Overall, if you like Wonder Woman or if you want an action/adventure book to read definitely give this a shot!

you guys are gonna burn me alive for saying this but I think that this is Leigh's best work and it was so much better than the Grishaverse books imho bye

Love the interpretation of Diana princess of the Amazons. The book keeps you interested the moment you pick it up. The details that go into this book will not disappoint you.

3.5 - Really enjoyed the story and characters. Lost points for a terrible narrator - I couldn’t tell which character was speaking and she read with such monotonous, bored tones. Thankfully, the plot was interesting and the twists were right up this YA fan’s alley, so the book was still enjoyable.

Love love loved this version of Diana’s origin story!!!

A fun, action-packed adventure. The ending leaves us open to more Wonder Woman adventures! Recommend to any readers who love superheroes and action stories!

I'm also going to re-read it!
