This is the most feel good book I’ve ever read. Every story is supposed to make you feel better, even the ones that actually are quite sad if you think about them. But everyone is just so happy and successful and happy. Sometimes all you want is goodness. Then read this one.

A fun return to Whistle Stop in a tale of growth and rebirth after 50. Shout out to my girl Evelyn Couch for becoming a mogul.

It is a light-hearted read, very soothing during this chaotic time. The narrator did a great job. All the characters are very vividly described, which has pushed the story going. I can easily to see this series be adapted to a TV mini series.
2.75 stars. I loved Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe and so I was looking forward to this follow up- but this didn’t grab me in the same way the first book did. I felt like there was no real story to follow, the chapters were so short and they just felt like small vignettes. The book was okay because I loved the characters but I should have just left it with the great story and memorable characters of the first book.

Fannie didn't come to play.
I'm so lucky that I discovered her books in my late 20s. If I was someone that had to wait for this book for 30+ years like those that read as she wrote, I don't know what I would have done with my life. Even the past 5 years of fandom have been HARD! I can't even call this a sequel because it feels like a completion.
Fannie's books always make me think of, "Make new friends, but keep the old." This was like a family reunion, but with people I like.
FIVE STARS because this warmed my soul.
