I was really intrigued by this book’s concept, but the execution of the plot fell a bit short. There were some elements that didn’t feel all that cohesive, and there was a slight supernatural element that I wish was explored further.

At the same time, I thought the writing was really strong. It made the book hard to put down! I also appreciated the queer representation, and the aspect on the sometimes toxicity of the true crime ‘genre’.

I think this is really solid for a YA mystery, and if you’re looking for a quick, atmospheric read, give this one a go!

Well this was an interesting, spooky YA thriller. It had some twists that I did not see coming and it had queer characters that I was not aware of before going into it, what a nice surprise

This was a fun YA mystery, definite Veronica Mars vibes. Not my favorite from Wendy Heard, but her books are consistently enjoyable.
