Heavy
I didn’t read the story blurb before starting this book, so I really did not know what to expect. I was blown away by Kate Stewart’s writing. This was a dark and heavy story, that held me in suspense until about 85% and brought silent tears. This was beautifully written.

This was unlike any book I have ever read. There was a mystery underneath the main story that was eerie and you got little crumbs just to keep you from going crazy yourself. Kate did an amazing job bring the MC's to life. The flashbacks were wonderful and showed the full picture. I cold feel the love between Lucas and Mila the whole time and then the love between Lucas and his best friend Blake and the friendship that they had. This book will build you up, tear you down, then put you back together in the end. Definitely filled with a ton of angst, but with them being an established couple to begin with, it helped for sure. The audio was very good and brought the characters to life in a completely different way as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an angst filled MF movie star romance with method acting.
I am sorry this absolutely dragged for me. I couldn't care less in the end how good a method actor he was..
I'll be honest it's probably because I Just don't think acting is hard..sure it's a bit tasking learning lines but you literally have a director making sure you come off well in the scenes. Must be why all manner of musicians later try acting.
Not impressed

the idea that when an actor plays a character the character becomes this entirely separate alter is so dumb. also these characters should never have stayed together

There's a lot of far past, past, and then present jumps that happen with this book and it was hard for me to keep it straight even with writing notes about the story. It mainly focuses on the relationship between Mila and Lucas over the years due to where they're at in present day. The further jumps back explains Lucas's background and how he got into being an actor. I did really enjoy the cameo for Reid & Stella Crowne when they popped into the story line from the Bittersweet Symphony books Kate wrote.

Thoughts: Not a fan of this book, I was not a fan of how he treated her and he would refuse to separate from his role - it was not okay how he only reacted after she filed and was leaving and then to top it off, she took him back sooooo quick. Dummy dude. Never would've expected her to do that. I was hoping for better from this book, but nope.
