Couldn't really get in this, even though it was fantastically written.  For as short as it is it felt a bit too long. There are some wonderful sentences and descriptions but only dotted between passages of text that I felt never really got to the point. An interesting enough reflection on the risks of breaking social norms, even if they are illogical and inconsistent, but probably wouldn't recommend.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one.  I don't know if it's the writing (this is my first Gabriel Garcia Marquez) or the translation but something was off to me.  Something was just not clicking, I don't think it's a bad book I just didn't get it.  I also found the use of every character's full name whenever they are mentioned to be strange - it made the sentences feel overwritten/unnecessarily full.

Not my favorite of the García Márquez I’ve read. All he said–she said plot and not enough atmosphere for my taste.
