this is my second time reading this book and i’m sticking with a 4 stars.

this book is so easy and nice to read, i like how
even though they technically get together early they aren’t really together until much later.
i don’t love chapter
29-33 but that’s just because i hate that books have to have conflict at the end. i just want everyone to be happy and no miscommunication or anything that causes a break/breakup.
but i guess you to have it or whatever.

can’t wait to read lucy’s book again, i remember really liking that one!

So much of this didn’t sit right with me.
The scene where she’s drunk and forces herself on the MMC
The crush she had on him as a small child still dominating her emotional and sexual priorities. The sex scenes were cringey and the characters didn’t develop - just a really stagnant story considering all that happens in it. The roommate drama was predictable
except the mmc being drugged
I’ve loved other books by this author and normally like the tropes this one has - it just wasn’t for me

Tbh this is 1 star just because I did finish it in hopes the end would save it but I really should have DNFed it.

The most annoying thing about this book is that I’m sure there was a good one in there somewhere. Unfortunately anything good in its premise was drowned between what I think was supposed to be banter but need up falling flat, deeply uncomfortable sex scenes that absoltely did not need to be there (if you’ve read the book I’m sure you know the one I’m talking about in particular - if that chapter was supposed to be cute, charming or even worst hot, I think me and the author have very different ideas of what *consent* means).
Anytime that the opportunity to create a tension between the two leads is presented Maise either changes subject, time skips, or in sone other way fails to follow through on it, leaving us to have to trust her  word that these two can’t keep their hands off eachother.

Anyways, Jason is in no way near charming enough on the romance novel boyfriend to creep scale to get away with the borderline stalking and possessive things he does, and I don’t think I’ll pick up any other of her books despite the appealing premises.

To conclude: please stop using the on set trailer for your personal business and let that poor PA go home, he’s been there since 6am, can’t sit down, and has to wait for you to be in a car headed home to go home himself - take pity on the poor PA

The premise of the book was interesting, but the writing was not great.

Meh. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, but it was pretty basic NA contemporary romcom. Pretty forgettable, and I was honestly bored by it.
