All my notes were snarky and I didn't like the FMC starting at page 34. I liked Jason's chapters but Olive was annoying to me.
Also miscommunication trope which I can't stand.
The writing was not great, the story was fine, and the characters were hit or miss. I see why people could like this but I don't think it was for me.
Oh and it also weirded me out how often people said the name of the person they were talking to when they were talking. Like they forgot who they were while talking. Just seemed either like poor writing/editing or manipulation tactics used by the characters.

Well, uhm, I don't know what to make of this one. It started off pretty well; I liked it and couldn't put it down.

But then I could... Dear God, Olive, pull yourself together girl. Plus, Jason Thorn is a dick. That was my conclusion until about 150 before the end and since then I've kind of died of boredom.

Plus, I really got a 'Funny You Should Ask' vibe, which I liked and gave 4 stars, so no sorry Jason Thorn, not for me. (Although, knowing me, I would read the next in the series too)

Overview:
Imagine your childhood crush (who was your older brothers best friend btw) breaks your heart and moves away to Los Angeles. Years go by without talking to him or seeing him. You hear he becomes a famous actor- and his name is always in the tabloids. You end up moving to LA for school, and you become a PUBLISHED AUTHOR (go you!!) And now they want to turn your book into a movie! Seems great huh? But guess who they pick to star in the movie? None other than your childhood crush, Jason Thorn. How did you go from not talking to him for years, to being pictured with him as his future wife?! Cue Queen when they said “is this the real life, is this just fantasy?”

Review:
This is the first book by Ella Maise that I read, and I loved it. This has your brother’s best friend trope, friends to lovers, celebrity romance, and fake-dating/engagement tropes all in it. Personally, I am more of an enemies to lovers kind of gal (which is exactly why I was SO excited to read To Hate Adam Connor) but that’s for a different review another day. This was a cute romance book, and definitely had some spicy scenes in there. This is the book you want to read for a lighthearted, cute romance read. There was many moments I would be reading and I’d be stupidly smiling at my book. I am the type of girl that loves those cute, cheesy romance movies where people fall in love and get a happy ending- the same thing applies for books. Now, onto reading another masterpiece by Ella Maise which is Marriage for One!

I put off reading this book for literal years and I cannot understand why because this is gonna go down as one of my favorites of all time. It had all of my top favorite tropes and intertwined them beautifully <3 it was such a good lil she falls first he falls harder rom com. Theres something so special about how she is obsessed with him for literally the entire book and never loses that spark, and watching as he slowly begins to match her energy.
