These illustrated covers are sneaky, sneaky little gems.

You need to read this book. I absolutely loved this, it’s a brothers best friend, kind of second chance romance there was no romance when they were younger due to an age gap but when they find each other after years apart it all clicks into place.

Jason Thorn. Holy hell I adored this man. The spice! Seriously that man knows how to dirty talk!

Sweet little Olive was adorable I loved her and her friendship with Lucy was great, I love when you have side characters that you become invested in too.

Overall this was just a very good read.

Q: What do you do when the person you’ve had a crush on since forever finally shows up again?
-
Olive has been in love with her brothers childhood friend for as long as she can remember. But then he crushes her heart in one single night and she promises to never let him near her again. Now, he’s a movie star and I can’t even look him in the eye. Olive is the author of the next hit movie that Jason is about to star in, inspired by her childhood crush on Jason. But that isn’t what the paparazzi are going crazy about. They’re going crazy about the fact that Olive is about to become Jason’s wife. Is there a future for them? Or will the past become their future too?

I loved this book! It was so easy to get through and the writing style was beautiful! I absolutely loved the relationship between Jason and Olive and the way that they slowly reconnected with one another. I had seen this around on tiktok and had seen an out of context quote and fell in love so I was really excited to read it. Now that I have, I’m so glad that I watched that tiktok and got to read it! It was so good! 4 stars!!!

It was not a bad book but idk it was very predictable and when I got to this point I just kept choosing other books instead of this. I am not a big friends to lovers supporter so that might be another reason why the story didnt hold me in its grasp till the end.

To be honest, I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoy the brother’s best friend trope, as well as the childhood-friends-to-lovers trope. I think the dynamic between Jason and Olive was pretty well done & definitely realistic, with Olive thinking she is clingy and annoying and Jason not realizing he was in love with her until later. Because, let’s be honest, it’s not very realistic if *both* parties were in love with each other from the very beginning, especially with the age difference.

However, there was a few things that keeps me from giving it anything higher than a 4/5. For one, the first few chapters focusing on their childhood seem out of place. I get that she’s giving backstory/context, but they do not seem like they belong in the story. As well the scene where he gives her an orgasm when she was like blackout drunk made me uncomfortable. Yes, she was encouraging it but she was also way too drunk to consent; it’s different if you’re in a committed relationship but they were nothing at this point. They had never had sex. It was so odd and I wish it wasn’t in the book.
