The ups and downs in this book were great. A bit predictable but well written and enjoyable. I liked the slow burn a lot and the development between the main characters felt natural and just amazing. The only reason because of which I did not rate this book five stars is that even after being subjected to so many problems the FMC was reluctant to unleash her powers but then she’d always threaten the people around her for not treating her right, reminding them of her powers she didn’t even want to posses in the first place and she thought of herself as more powerful than anyone but when the time came to actually BE powerful, she’d just go like-I don’t want to let the beast in me go wild. Now this, seemed a bit like she liked to give hollow threats and it was something I which made me not like her as much as I’d like to. Other than this, loved the book and I can’t wait to get started with the next one!

I think this is a strong start to the series. I did predict part of the ending (the sister) while reading the book but I still enjoyed it. I definitely see Singard’s possessiveness with Wren but I didn’t see that passion or chemistry from him behind it for quite a while. It did fall flat in spots as he didn’t open up to her until right at the end. The spicy scenes definitely paid off but see the trigger warning at the front of the book. Singard’s past does make me sad for him and Wren did sum it up really well as he was a product of abuse too. Wren is a powerful FMC who is trying to trust herself not to fall into bloodlust as well as trying not to fall into Singard. I’m excited to see where the series goes from here!!

She keeps talking about how powerful she is but she never does anything. The most boring, passive, brain dead heroine honestly. And the absolute whiplash of going from enemies to lovers is insane. Pretty fun spicy scenes towards the end though.
