If you’re attracted to characters like The Darkling, despite everything, you’ll love Sin. If you like Rose Hathaway-types, you’ll also love Wren. Just add more violence, sexual tension, and shapeshifters.

I devoured this debut in about 48 hours, and it has all the elements you want in a dark fantasy— a realm divided, an engaging magic system, subterfuge, clear character motivations, and themes about how people with power wield their gifts.

There are parts of this that will make your chest ache alongside the characters, slow burn moments of tension that threaten to unglue you, and sex scenes that could make you blush (note: the author/publisher is very open about trigger warnings).

It’s definitely the kind of book that will keep you up past your bedtime to find out what’s next.
