This was WAY longer than it should've been. The humor and action was few and far between, and for those few reasons I cant give it any higher than three stars. Sorry! Interested to see how it all ends though.
oh nOo
Can’t believe the reveal is so early?! This should be illegal

The War of the Sanctuaries is here. The magical world descends into chaos. Last Stand of Dead Man is all about strategies, conspiracies and the test of loyalty and allegiance.
The complexity was mind boggling. I remember creating a complex chart when I first read this book in order to keep track of the appearance of characters. It was tedious, hard work. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy the 417 new characters or side characters that appeared since they’re total strangers. I like to focus on the main cast (which already includes a “skeleton crew” of about 25 characters…. Hahaha skeleton crew, I didn’t even plan that one!!!). It was strange to get so little time with Valkyrie and Skulduggery as a duo, but I have to say: The scenes we DID get of the two of them together were STRONGLY implying the (future) possibility of Valduggery, especially because of certain visions and interaction they had with each other.
Last Stand of Dead Man witnesses the rise of my nemesis – The reflection. I HATE STEPHANIE.
Another thing I couldn’t enjoy was the actual progress of the war of the sanctuaries, but that’s down to a personal dislike of war themes and battle scenes.
Last Stand of Dead Men had some brilliant scenes, but they were concentrated toward the final quarter of the book. Of course it’s still a brilliant Skulduggery Pleasant book. This one is somewhere in between 4 and 5 stars for me, but I’ll always give it 5 stars. Until the end.
