I really enjoyed this book and related to the author in so many ways. It made me feel like there is hope even when you hide so much if yourself, and embracing your full self is sometimes a years long (even life long) journey.

Insightful to learn about the experience of religious, Muslim queer people.  I loved this so much!

i really enjoyed lamya’s writing and how they juxtaposed their stories of finding community, exploring their queerness and falling in love with the stories in the Quran that resonate with them. having read the Quran before, but not as a practicing Muslim, i learned a lot from this book in terms of different interpretations of the text: queer, feminist, anti-racist etc.
